Telephony

The hardphone was until end of 2022 the standard landline telephone at ETH Zurich. With the migration to Softphone (UC), these will be replaced for the personal workstations.

The Softphone (UC) is based on the product “OpenScape UC” from Unify, the supplier of our previous telephony solution.

From the end of February 2023, all new employees will be equipped only with the Softphone (UC) and no more hardphones will be installed. The softphone application UC Desktop App is preinstalled on all  Windows and macOS computers. 

Migration to Softphone

In order to be able to use the new service, you have to log in to the Phone Control Center and start the migration yourself.

Important: The Phone Control Center is only available within the ETH network or via VPN!
